Our Mission
The Skill Migrants Alliance (SMA) was established as a community-led initiative to advocate for the fair treatment of skilled migrants and their families in the UK. We represent the interests of approximately 1.6 million workers, businesses, and individuals who are the backbone of the UK economy, NHS, and infrastructure.
The Challenge
Our primary objective is to challenge proposed retrospective changes to UK immigration policy. Many of us arrived with the legitimate expectation of a 5-year route to settlement (Indefinite Leave to Remain). Recent policy shifts threaten to extend this timeline to 10 or even 15 years, causing significant financial instability and uncertainty for our families.
Legal Action
To protect our future, we have engaged top-tier legal counsel, including Kingsley Napley LLB and a leading King's Counsel, to provide expert opinions and issue a formal letter of claim against the Home Office. We are prepared to seek a judicial review to ensure the government honors its original promises.
